| Panchakarma |
Panchakarma
is a very profound healing therapy employed in Ayurvedic
Medicine. It is typically used to unlock and dispose of deep
seated disease from the body. Pancha Karma eradicates disease at
the root cause. These Panchakarma therapies are about cleansing
the body of toxins known as (ama) and rejuvenation oil therapies
following purification towards a state of bliss and calm at the very
core of Self. The legend has it that Pancha Karma has been known
to extend years to one’s life 20 to 30 years, with fresh skin, clear
eyes, and purified heart, body & mind. Panchakarma promotes
longevity by preventing the aging process and making one young and
healthy again.
Pancha
Karma is a Sanskrit term that translates into the “five actions”.
The five actions of traditional panchakarma are Vamana (Therapeutic
vomiting), Virechana (Purgation), Basti (Enema), Nasya (Nasal
Purgation), and Rakta Mokshana (Bloodletting). Not everybody
would receive each action. The procedure depends on which
imbalance is indicated to the client in the healing process. Each
action is related to cleansing/tonification at a specific doshic
location. Working with disease at the root cause.
Pancha Karma at Tucson's Ayurveda & Wellness Center takes approximately three weeks. The first week and the last week will be at a nearby retreat or residence under the guidance of a Pancha Karma Specialist. During the second week, the client visits the clinic daily for panchkarma treatments for 5 days, 7 days or 10 days.
The week prior to coming in to T.A.W.C. the client will be instructed to follow a specific food program, oleation internally and externally along with heat therapies. This will prepare the client to receive panchakarma with the greatest benefit. During the week of panchakarma it is very important that the client take time off from work and from daily duties perhaps at a nearby hotel or bed and breakfast. Rejuvenating the mind is of the utmost importance throughout this healing journey. Following the week of panchakarma therapies the goal will be rebuilding the digestive fires (agni) and reestablishing a proper food program before the client re-enters every day life. To be fully successful, the client must move gradually back into a suggested diet/lifestyle after the P.K. process has completed. |

| Reiki and Craniosacral |
 |
|
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing art over 3000 years old. “Rei” means universal and “Ki” means Chi - life force. So Reiki means “Universal Life Force Energy.” A session of Reiki/Crainosacral involves the Reiki practitioner placing the hands on the (chakras)the seven major energy centers in the body. By balancing these energy centers the body can begin to heal on a physical and emotional level. A Reiki session is done fully clothed on a massage table for 45 to 60 minutes.
The crainosacral is incorporated with the Reiki session. The practitioner mainly works with the cranial and sacral bones and the little wind in-between, “Spirit”. The cranial work is also a light touch and holds for three to five minutes in each position. Crainosacral is excellent for
head traumas, freeing the movement of cerebral spinal fluid. It is useful in cases of depression, anxiety, insomnia, TMJ, anger, headaches, fatigue, and it helps restore a sense of stability and calm. |
